Llanon W.I.                 Sefydliad y Merched Llanon

Meetings 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month
  Time 7:30pm
Place The Reading Room (next to the Village Hall)

There has been a WI in Llanon since 1957 and it has always taken an active part in the village. Every year the WI has a stall in the Carnival to raise money for its own funds and for different charities.

Members of all ages attend the meetings and the programme is the result of joint planning so everyone has  the chance of suggesting speakers and activities. The County and National headquarters organize courses, conferences and workshops so that members have the chance to expand their horizons and learn new and traditional skills.

JERUSALEM

JERIWSALEM

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen?

And did the countenance divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among those dark Satanic mills?

Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spears o'clouds unfold,
Bring me my chariot of fire!

I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,
Till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land.

A sangodd traed ein Harglwydd gynt
Anial flynyddoedd Cymru gu?
A welwyd sanctaidd oen ein Duw
Hyd ddolydd gwyrddlas Cymru cu?

A fu ei wyneb dwyfol ef
Gynt yn goleuo'r dywyll fro?
A fu Jeriwsalem dina Duw
Yng ngwlad y mwg a'r pyllau glo?

Rhowch im fy mwa euraid llosg!
Saethau fy nymuniadau glan
Fy mhicell rhowch! O! gwmwl, hollt!
A dygwch im fy ngherbyd tan.

Ni chwsg fy nghleddyf yn fy llaw
Ni ddianc f'enaid rhag y gad
Nes codi mur Jeriwsalem
Ar feysydd gwyrddlas Cymru fad.
